If your friend is a true friend then they will come to you for help @D’tasik Restaurant Uniten Bangi
Bandar Baru Bangi, Dec. 15, 2012: Our SMSNS friends are always very dear to our heart….there is a special relationship or bond that we can’t describe. You can only understand it when you go through it yourself. When you hear one of them suddenly fell seriously ill, you will feel so sad and will try your best to do something to ease their burden.
That is what happened when recently we received news that our friend, Rohayati Harun or Yati suffered from kidney failures. Yati has gone through a medical challenge life since she was Form 2. The latest condition really dampened her mood.
We then immediately decided to raise fund to help her in her medical financial commitment. The objective is to ease her financial burden for the initial months until she decides on her permanent arrangement. She is incurring RM200 for each dialysis treatment and she needs to do it three times a week. So the monthly total cost is RM2,400. The dialysis cost is not covered under her company’s medical benefits nor her husband’s.

We did two initiatives for the fund raising;
1. Special Dinner for her which we’ve arranged for each friend that attended pays RM80. RM30 was for the dinner and RM50 goes to Yati’s Fund. During this event we had around 30 friends from a few batches. We have managed to collect RM2,200 after paying the dinner cost.
2. We have arranged for a bank account for friends that would like to contribute but not able to join the dinner. This bank account is under our Batch Treasurer’s name – Encik Norliza Yusof. This bank account is still open until to-date. We are still inviting friends to continue contributing if they want.
The permanent arrangement she is planning to do is applying for a medical boarded out from her current company and apply for ‘Pencen Ilat’ and medical benefits under SOCSO. As at to-date this is in progress.
We are getting support from other Batches on the fund raising too. We are also getting some other support like SOCSO contact persons……Syukur Alhamdulillah.
As at to-date we have collected a total of RM5,420. We have handed to Yati RM4,820 on 30th December 2012. We will continue to keep the collection open for now and will decide on our next visit to hand over the balance.

Yati extended her sincere heartfelt thank you to all our friends that has contributed and felt so touched with their supports despite the fact she has not met some of them since school days.
Latest update, Yati will try alternative treatment soon. This is good for her especially when her condition is still new; when her kidney just started to shrink. Let’s doa or pray for her well-being and improved health condition.
